Arminfo. Armenia’s Minister of Economy Gevorg Papoyan met in Dubai with Issam Kazim, chairman of the board of directors of the major port and logistics company DP World.
The sides discussed opportunities for establishing long-term business cooperation with DP World, placing particular emphasis on strengthening Armenia’s position as a regional logistics and trade hub.
They also separately touched upon DP World’s possible involvement in the <Dry Port> project in Gyumri, as well as prospects for developing modern warehousing and multimodal logistics infrastructure in Armenia.
In this context, the minister emphasized that Armenia’s geographical location, the TRIPP program, and the <Crossroads of Peace> initiative create new opportunities for international logistics companies.
During the meeting, Papoyan and Kazim emphasized the importance of establishing cooperation to effectively utilize Armenia’s transit and logistics potential and expand international trade ties.
It should be noted that DP World is a Dubai-based international company specializing in port infrastructure, logistics, and supply chain management. The company operates more than 60 ports and terminals in various countries around the world and provides services in maritime, land, and multimodal transportation, warehousing, and freight forwarding.
