ArmInfo. Armenia’s Minister of Economy Gevorg Papoyan met with a number of entrepreneurs engaged in growing roses in Armenia using high technologies.
According to the ministry’s press service, the parties discussed state policy in the field of greenhouse farming, existing state support mechanisms aimed at stimulating exports and organizing export processes, as well as opportunities for developing the sector and increasing its competitiveness.
The logistical and transport specifics of exporting greenhouse roses, the customs clearance process, and other issues related to the sector were also discussed separately.
Minister of Economy Gevorg Papoyan emphasized the importance of ensuring the stable and uninterrupted operation of the sector, increasing the competitiveness of Armenian greenhouse roses in export markets, and strengthening the position of Armenian products in new markets.
It should be recalled that, starting from May 22, 2026, Rosselkhoznadzor introduced temporary restrictions on the import of flower products originating from and shipped from Armenia until the inspection of greenhouse farms is completed and the analysis of its results is finalized. , Rosselkhoznadzor noted.
According to data from the State Revenue Committee of the Republic of Armenia, in the first half of 2026, Armenia exported 19.9 million flowers and buds, which is 23.8% lower than the figure recorded a year earlier. At the same time, the customs value decreased by 39.5%, amounting to $8.9 million. The lion’s share of exports went to Russia - 59.1% or 11.7 million units, which is 47.2% lower than last year’s figure. At the same time, the customs value decreased by 59.2%, amounting to $5.2 million.
