The prospects for developing trade and economic ties with Iraqi Kurdistan and promoting exports from Armenia to Iraq, including Iraqi Kurdistan, were discussed at a meeting in Erbil between Levon Petrosyan, Head of the Middle East and Africa Department of Armenia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Trade, and Safin Dizai, Head of the Department of Foreign Relations of Iraqi Kurdistan.
According to the press service of Armenia’s foreign policy agency, the interlocutors also discussed intensifying contacts between the sides and deepening cooperation in the fields of culture, tourism, technology and education. During his visit to Erbil, Levon Petrosyan also held meetings with Peshawa Muhammad, Adviser to the Deputy Prime Minister of Iraqi Kurdistan for Foreign Affairs and Head of the Department of Diplomatic Relations of the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister; Bayan Sami Abdul Rahman, Senior Adviser to the Prime Minister of Iraqi Kurdistan for Foreign Affairs; and Sarwar Kamal Hawari, Deputy Minister of Trade and Industry of Iraqi Kurdistan. The meetings discussed issues related to expanding the trade and economic agenda and further deepening cooperation.
