Arminfo. Armenia and Egypt discussed opportunities to expand economic cooperation. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Economy, citing the results of a meeting between Minister Gevorg Papoyan and Egypt’s Ambassador to Armenia Amal Afifi.
In particular, the interlocutors discussed prospects for increasing bilateral trade turnover and intensifying business ties.
In the context of expanding market access and strengthening business ties, they emphasized the importance of organizing B2B meetings between the business communities of the two countries, as well as exchanging information on import procedures and certification requirements.
The parties also discussed opportunities for investment cooperation and prospects for implementing joint programs within free economic zones.
Following the meeting, an agreement was reached to continue work on the areas discussed and take practical steps to further expand economic cooperation between Armenia and Egypt.
It should be noted that, according to data from the RA Customs Service, in the first half of 2026, the customs value of goods imported from Egypt to Armenia decreased by 90%, amounting to $8.7 million.
The customs value of exported goods tripled, amounting to $792.3 thousand.
