Bloomberg reports that a deal between the Armenian government and Nvidia could turn the country into an artificial intelligence (AI) hub. The data center, which opened in Hrazdan last month, is expected to become one of the largest computing clusters in the region and Europe. The agency notes that a fifth of the complex's computing power is intended for domestic use – for research, public administration, and the Firebird ecosystem. The rest is distributed among foreign companies, including American companies such as Perplexity AI.

Firebird AI, the first AI data center in the CIS and the largest in the region, officially opened in the Armenian city of Hrazdan in August 2026. By the end of 2027, the number of graphics processing units (GPUs), such as NVIDIA Blackwell and Vera Rubin, is planned to increase to more than 100,000 units.The project positions Armenia as a new strategic hub and global platform for artificial intelligence and supercomputing.
