ArmInfo. The 9th World Forum of Energy Regulators (WFER IX) kicked off in Tbilisi with the participation of a delegation from the Public Services Regulatory Commission of the Republic of Armenia, headed by Commission Chairman Mesrop Mesropyan.
According to the PSRC press service, the forum brought together representatives of energy regulators from around the world, experts in the field, and representatives of international organizations. Discussions focused on the energy sector's transition to cleaner and more sustainable energy systems, investments in the development and modernization of electricity grids, the integration of regional energy markets, consumer protection, and overcoming energy poverty.
The agenda also included issues of developing and regulating energy storage systems, the use and development of green hydrogen, cybersecurity of energy infrastructure, and the application of innovative technologies in the energy sector. The forum focuses on the challenges facing regulators in the context of the energy transition, attracting new investment, and balancing consumer protection.
WFER is one of the largest international platforms in energy regulation, where representatives of regulatory agencies from various countries and industry experts discuss global and regional challenges for the development of the energy sector.
