
ArmInfo. RA Deputy Minister of Finance Edgar Mkrtchyan participated in a strategic meeting of the Eurasian Fund for Stabilization and Development. The Fund's performance for 2022-2026 and priorities for the next five years were discussed, according to a statement from the press service of the RA Ministry of Finance.
According to the source, as part of the new strategy, the Fund plans to pay more attention to the long-term economic stability of member countries. It is planned to allocate $1.5 billion for investment programs in the energy, water, and transport sectors.
It should be noted that the current EFSD project portfolio in Armenia is approximately $538 million, including 10 active programs. The Armenian state budget has allocated 37.2 billion drams for EFSD programs. The Fund estimates Armenia's economic growth for the year at 5.5%. The EFSD plans to open an official permanent office in Armenia to coordinate projects.
