In Armenia, the absolute figure for natural population growth increased by 11.9% over the year

ArmInfo.  In Armenia, 19,865 children were born in January-August 2026, which is 2.6% lower than the figure recorded a year earlier. The birth rate per 1,000 residents during the reporting period was 9.6 per mille, compared with 9.9 per mille a year earlier.

At the same time, 16,391 people died in Armenia during the reporting period, which is 5.2% lower than the figure recorded a year earlier. The mortality rate in the country was 7.9 per mille, compared with 8.4 per mille a year ago.

Thus, the absolute natural population increase amounted to 3,474 people, rising by 11.9% over the year. The natural population growth rate was 1.7 per mille in January-August of this year, compared with 1.5 per mille a year earlier.
