ArmInfo.In the next year and a half, Armenia will have to make a number of important decisions  regarding its r political, geostrategic and economic development.  In  economic terms, and perhaps in a broader sense, Armenia will have to  determine what kind of country it wants, can and should be.

ArmInfo.Armenia will not give up nuclear energy; this is a requirement of the country's Energy  Security Strategy until 2040. UN National Expert on Energy Ara Marjanyan expressed such a belief in a conversation with the ArmInfo correspondent, commenting on yesterday's statement by RA Prime  Minister Nikol Pashinyan during the live broadcast.

ArmInfo. Today is the deadline for the 2-month term for the expert opinion by the interagency group for construction of a new nuclear power unit formed under a decision  by Armenia's Premier Nikol Pashinyan. 

ArmInfo. There is no alternative to nuclear energy in Armenia, so the question is the  capacity of the new nuclear power unit. Such an idea became the  cornerstone during the Round Table on the prospects for building a  new nuclear power unit in Armenia, organized on August 5 by an  initiative group of county's power engineers.

ArmInfo. After the final decommissioning of the second power unit of the operating nuclear  power plant (NPP) in Metsamor, Armenia will not be able to provide  domestic electricity consumption without commissioning additional  generating capacities.

ArmInfo.Regrettably, none of the large-scale investment projects of hydraulic power system construction on the Debet and Arax rivers has made any substantial  progress, Ara Marjanyan, UN National Expert on Energy, said in an  interview with ArmInfo.

ArmInfo. The construction of the Rasht-Astara railway will mean a further blockade of Armenia, and nothing more. Ara Marjanyan, EU national expert on transport, told  ArmInfo.  According to him, the construction of this section of the  road, which was announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin in  Tehran, does not promise anything good for Armenia, since the use of  the North-South corridor on the left bank of the Caspian Sea will  have the most negative impact on projects in Armenia itself.

ArmInfo. The increase in the price of gasoline in Armenia observed in the previous month is due to price fluctuations in the producing country, as well as an increase  in logistics costs. The EU national expert on transport Ara Marjanyan  expressed a similar opinion to ArmInfo.

Deputy Director of the Educational Foundation "Noravank" Ara Marjanyan adheres to a  similar point of view, commenting at the request of ArmInfo on the  possibility of raising the price for Russian "blue fuel" from $ 150  to $ 165 per 1,000 cubic meters.
