Polymetal International plc has entered into a legally binding agreement with  Chaarat Gold Holdings Limited (AIM:CGH) (together with its  subsidiaries - "Chaarat") for the sale of the Kapan mine in the  Republic of Armenia ("Kapan") for a total consideration of US$ 55  million (the "Transaction"), the press service of the company  informs.

ArmInfo.The Kapan Mining and Processing Enterprise, a member of the Polymetal International plc group of companies, processed 312 thsd tons of ore in the first half  of 2018, versus 246 thsd tons in the same period last year. In Q2  alone the volume of production amounted to 158 thousand tons of ore,  versus 132 thousand tons in the previous year.

ArmInfo. The Kapan Mining and Processing Enterprise, a member of the Polymetal International plc group of companies, processed 154,000 tonnes of ore in the first 3 months of 2018, a 34% increase compared to the same period last year. The volume of production for the quarter amounted to 157 thousand tons of ore, which is 36% higher than in the previous year. ArmInfo. The Kapan Ore Mining and Processing Enterprise, a member of the Polymetal International plc group of companies, produced 527,000 tonnes in 12 months of 2017 and processed 530,000 tonnes of ore. Only in the IV quarter of the volume of production amounted to 140 thousand tons, processing volumes -141 thousand tons. At the same time, production exceeded the indicator for the same period last year by 33%, processing - by 24%. This is stated in the company's report on the production results of the fourth quarter of 2017.

ArmInfo. We met  Vitaliy Nesis, Chief Executive Officer of Polymetal, one of the leading precious metals mining companies in the post-Soviet space, for an interview in the resort town of Jermuk, where the 2nd stage of the Junior Grand Prix tournament of the European Chess Championship union was held during the period of  October 3 - October 16, under the sponsorship of the company.  The company of Polymetal was founded in 1998 and during  19 years has taken a sustainable   position in the geological exploration, design, construction and commissioning of mining enterprises, carrying out the full range of work on the development of ore deposits - from exploration to operation. In 2015, Polymetal acquired its first asset in Armenia - Lichkvaz CJSC,  with the right of subsoil use in respect  to the gold deposit of Lichkvaz-Tey. In April 2016, the company also acquired   Kapan Mining and Processing Plant from  Canadians,  which is operated for  processing  the Shahumyan  deposit ore. Only this year, the volume of investments of  Polymetal made in the modernization and expansion of production will form  $ 15 million. 

ArmInfo. The Kapan Mining and Processing Combine, part of the Polymetal International plc group of companies, processed 389,000 tons of ore over 9 months of 2017.  Only in the III quarter the processing volumes were 143  thousand tons against 116 thousand tons for the same period last year. Only in the second quarter the processing volumes were 132 thousand tons against 64 thousand tons for the same period last year. The quarterly reduction in grade and a related  decrease in recovery and production in the fourth quarter is related  to underground mine sequencing and is expected to revert in early  2017, according to the report of Q4 and Full Year 2016 Production  Results of the Polymetal International plc.  

ArmInfo. An improvement of the concentrator utilization at Kapan mine (acquired by Polymetal International in 2016) is planned in 2 stages: 650 ktpa to be achieved by 2H 2017, and 900 ktpa to be achieved by 2H 2018 (including feed from Lichkvaz), the website of Polymetal reports.
