ArmInfo.  The size of Armenia's public debt may decrease in the near future. This will be done not by repaying previously taken public loan obligations, but by  fundamentally revising the legislation regulating public debt. "The  introduction of amendments does not aim to whet the appetite of the  country's economic authorities to attract new - 'legally unlimited'  borrowings, but is only conditioned by the need to meet the  requirements of the international standard established in relation to  public debt," Acting Head of the Public Debt Management Department of  the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Armenia Marine Melikyan  said in an interview with ArmInfo.

ArmInfo. The World Bank will provide Armenia with a loan of 92.3 million euros and a grant of 16  million euros to finance the budget deficit. The resolution was approved at a government meeting on March 28.

ArmInfo. To cover the state budget deficit, Armenia will take out a EUR 50mln loan. At its  meeting on November 17, Armenia's Cabinet approved the bill on ratification of the loan agreement "Green, sustainable and inclusive development programme" between Armenia and OPEC.

ArmInfo.The State Revenue Committee (SRC) of Armenia has published a list of 1000 large taxpayers of the country, who in the first half of this year paid a  total of more than 584 billion 440 million AMD (about 1.2 billion US  dollars) to the state budget.  In particular, from January to June  2021, the amount of payments to the tax authority amounted to 494  billion 334 million drams, and to the customs authority - over 90  billion 105 million drams.

ArmInfo. In January-May 2021, Armenia's public debt increased by $ 848 million - up to $ 8,816 billion. To note, as of April 2018, that is, before the "Velvet  Revolution", the national debt was at $ 6,867 billion.

The trends that we observe in the economy today are results of  the consequences of the coronavirus pandemic in the world. This was announced on June 9 by  RA acting Minister of Finance  Atom Janjughazyan at the sitting of the Standing Committee of the  National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia on Budgetary and  Financial- Credit Issues.
