ArmInfo. In the absence of clear criteria and schemes it is difficult to assess the accident that occurred on July 10 in the energy system of Armenia. On July 15  at a press conference in Yerevan former chief engineer of "ArmEnergo"  state enterprise Spartak Hakobyan said.

ArmInfo. Unlike other generation facilities, nuclear power engineering does not forgive  mistakes. This was stated by the chairman of the Union of Veterans of  Atomic Energy of Armenia, former General Director of the Armenian NPP  Suren Azatyan at a press conference in Yerevan on July 19.

ArmInfo. The implementation of the program to extend the life of the second power unit of the Armenian Nuclear Power Plant is one of the most important projects in Armenia, which can be put on a par with such major infrastructure projects as the construction of the North-South road and the creation of the Russia-Georgia-Armenia-Iran energy corridor. All these projects are aimed at a significant economic strengthening of the country, which would be impossible without strengthening economic security, as well as its most important component , which is the energy security. 

ArmInfo. IAEA  nuclear  safety group experts completed the estimation of  Armenian NPP  operational safety. According to the information of organization, the  group of experts comprising specialists from Argentina, Bulgaria,  Canada, India, Ukraine and IAEA, has estimated the ANPP structure, as  well as long-term operation related projects, including human  resources and management. Experts mentioned several pluses in NPP  work. Among those pluses is the Seismic safety estimation and safety  modernization, the report reads. For instance, an approach should be  developed and implemented at NPP, according to which all the safety  related systems should be estimated from the point of view of their  long term operation. The NPP management stated the willingness to  follow al the recommendations and asked IAEA to plan the second  mission approximately after 18 months. The report will be put under  review at IAEA head office, and the final report wil ber submitted  within three months.
