ArmInfo. Anna Chobanyan is one of the most likely candidates for the position of new head of General Department of Civil Aviation, ArmInfo's sources in the Department inform.

ArmInfo. Until 2025, in Russia and other EEA countries, Armenian air carriers will get equal competitive conditions with local airlines. ArmInfo was informed about this in the press service of the General Department of Civil Aviation under the Government of the Republic of Armenia (GDCA).

ArmInfo. For eight months of 2017, passenger traffic through Armenia's airports amounted to 1.667 million people, which is 25.5% more than in the previous year, during which 2,117 million passengers were transported by air. The head of the Main Department of Civil Aviation of the Republic of Armenia Sergey Avetisyan told a press conference in Yerevan on September 22.

ArmInfo. The growth of the  segment of Russian air carriers on the Armenian market is conditioned  by the growth of demand. Head of the General Department of Civil  Aviation of Armenia Sergey Avetisyan stated this at the request of  journalists on April 27, commenting on the dominant position of the  Russian air carriers, which led to a rise in prices, and, as a  result, to the flight of Armenian passengers to neighboring Georgia,  where flights to the countries Far abroad are much cheaper.

ArmInfo. The Cabinet of Ministers of Armenia approved the proposal for the agreements "On air communications" between Armenia and Canada, and between Armenia and Singapore at the meeting on January 26.

ArmInfo. Head of General  department of Civil Aviation of Armenia Sergey Avetisyan considers  justified Armenia's joining ''Open Skies'' policy. ''From the moment  when the Open Skies policy was announced Armenia has exceeded  expectations", Sergey Avetisyan stated answering to ArmInfo's  question related to results achieved within the announced policy. 

ArmInfo.In Jan-Nov 2016 the  passenger flow via Zvartnots Airport grew by 11% as compared to  Jan-Nov 2015, and totaled 1,916,522 passengers.

ArmInfo. Armenian companies  have left airline market of Armenia because of open skies policy,  Head of "Executive Travel", General sales agent of "Air France KLM"  Levon Baghdasaryan told ArmInfo's correspondent. 

ArmInfo. In Jan-Oct 2016, the passenger traffic via Zvartnots Airport of Yerevan increased by 9.5%. The press office of the General Department of Civil Aviation of Armenia has told ArmInfo that as many as 1,747,926 people made use of Zvartnots Airport services. In 2016, the cargo traffic via Zvartnots Airport totaled 13,290 tons, 81% more than in 2015.

ArmInfo. Belavia intends to  resume flights to Yerevan in June 2017, Belavia's Director General  Anatoly Gusarov says.  

ArmInfo. I do not think that the  goal of Russian low- coster ''Pobeda'' is to dump local air carriers.  Otherwise, it would not be allowed to Armenian airline market, Head  of Flight Regulation Division of General Department of Civil Aviation  Anna Chobanyan expressed this opinion at a press conference on  November 1 answering to ArmInfo's question that Russian low-coster  may oust  Armenian air company ''Armenia'' from the market.

ArmInfo. In Jan-Sept 2016 versus  Jan-Sept 2015, the passenger flow through Zvartnots airport grew by  7.1% to 1,542,500 people mostly due to the open skies policy, Anna  Chobanyan, Head of the Air Traffic Regulation Department of the  Armenian General Department of Civil Aviation, said at a press  conference on November 1. 

ArmInfo. This year the demand for air tickets to Armenia is growing in Russia this year, according to a study conducted by Tutu.ru analysts. The analysts say that the share of the purchased tickets to Armenia has almost doubled. "The air ticket prices dropped by 40% from 11,606 RUR to 7,062 RUR, contributing to positive dynamics," the experts say. 

ArmInfo. Since October 14 international airport in Voronezh opens flights to Yerevan with a new partner, Aif Chernozemye informs.  Regular flights will be conducted by Armenia Air Company. Boeing 737-500 designed for 132 passengers will fly to capital of Armenia on Tuesdays and Fridays.

ArmInfo. Government of Armenia approved agreement of air communication between Armenia and Belgium on August 18. Minister of economy Artsvik Minasyan says the agreement was signed yet in 2001, but then Armenia lacked "open sky" policy, which implied tangible restrictions in the field. With the new policy, the agreement will boost the Arenian-Belgian cooperation in the field of air transportation, tourism development and commodity turnover.
