ArmInfo.The State Revenue Committee (SRC) of the Republic of Armenia presented contacts for feedback with the customs attache at the Armenian Embassy in Russia.   According to the press-service of the SRC RA received in ArmInfo,  from now on, contacts will be involved in maintaining feedback with  the customs attache at the Armenian embassy.

ArmInfo. Director General of CJSC South Caucasus Railway Alexey Melnikov at a conference call on March 2 summed up the results of the railway's operation in February  2020. This was reported by the press service of SCR.    According to the head of the Company, during the reporting period,  219.4 thousand tons of cargo was transported, which is 0.5% higher  than last year; SCR services were used by 26.4 thousand passengers  (an increase of 8.4%). At the same time, passenger traffic in  international traffic compared with February 2019 increased by 30%,  in local - by 7.6%.  At the same time, taking into account the  current external economic situation, freight turnover declined  (0.2%versus the level of the previous year), export transportation  (23.5% versus the level of February 2019) somewhat decreased amid the  growth of local transportation (by 13%).

The transfer ceremony, which took place the day before,  was attended by the Director of Schneider Electric Representation in  Armenia Avetik Kalantaryan and General Director of the NPP Movses  Vardanyan.

For the Government of Armenia, the main issues in the field of railway transport are the improvement of the quality of services, and not a change of manager.  The Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan said  this on February 12 in the country's parliament, presenting the  program of government activities for the next five years. Answering  the question of the NA deputy from the Enlightened Armenia faction  Gevorg Gorgisyan about the possibility of changing the  concessionaire, the Prime Minister stressed that this issue is not  raised or discussed.

ArmInfo. According to the most pessimistic forecasts, in case of non- receipt from the Georgian counterparts of a discount on the supply of grain to Armenia by rail, the cost of 1 kg will rise by 25 drams, Minister of Agriculture of Armenia Artur Khachatryan told journalists on August 31. According to him, Georgia justified its restriction by the fact that large trucks lead to traffic jams at the Upper Lars checkpoint. Considering this, the Georgian side offered to transport cargo by ferry to the harbor of Poti and then by rail to deliver goods to Armenia.

ArmInfo. From September 1, 2018, tariffs for transportation of goods with grain by rail to Armenia will be reduced by 52%. Such an agreement was achieved on the basis of negotiations between the South Caucasus Railways CJSC and Georgian Railways JSC.

ArmInfo. Starting from March 4, passengers on the Yerevan-Gyumri-Yerevan route start serving the new electric train EP2D, recently purchased by the South Caucasus Railways from the Russian company Transmashholding. The first test flight of the new lineup was successfully held on February 27.
