Economist comments on Armenian PM`s overestimation of minimum pension increase

ArmInfo.Head of the Armenian  Cabinet of Ministers and the Ministry of Social Labor proudly declare  that after the July increase, the minimum pension of 36,000 drams  will amount to 99.5% of the minimum food basket, but this is by no  means the case.  Movses Aristakesyan, the Chairman of the "Center for  Economic Rights" NGO ", an international financial expert in public  finance management, wrote on his Facebook page.

23.9% rise in petrol prices in Armenia in first half of 2022

ArmInfo.In the first half of 2022, the index of consumer prices for petrol rose by 23.9%, with the average index in the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) being 9.3%. The  highest rise was recorded in Kyrgyzstan, 46.7%, according to the data  by the Eurasian Economic Commission as of August 1, 2022.

ArmInfo. In the consumer market  of Armenia in January- November 2020, inflation was recorded at 0.3%,  against deflationary 0.5% in the same period of 2019. This was  provoked by an increase in tariffs for services by 1.4%, a rise in  prices for non-food products by 1%, while prices for food products  (including alcohol and cigarettes) fell by 0.9%. According to the  Statistical Committee of the Republic of Armenia, in y-o-y terms  (compared to January-November 2019), the consumer market recorded  inflation of 1% (against inflationary 1.5% a year ago), which was  facilitated by the same rise in prices of food and non-food products  by 0.8% and an increase in tariffs for services by 1.3%. The average  monthly rise in prices on the consumer market amounted to 0.03% in  January- November 2020, against a 0.05% decline a year earlier.

RA government approves report on implementation of government program  in 2019

In November 2019, 1.1% inflation was recorded in the consumer market of Armenia, caused by the rise in price of food products by 2.3%, non-food products - by  0.2%, with the same tariffs for services. In the capital, consumer  prices rose 1.1% in November. In January-November 2019, deflation of  0.5% was due to a decrease in the price of food products by 2.4%,  with a rise in price of non-food products by 1.4% and an increase in  tariffs for services by 0.9%.

ArmInfo. Chairman of the National Statistical Service of Armenia Stepan Mnatsakanyan, referring to the statistical data, assures that in January-December of 2017 inflation was 2.6%, after two years of deflation in 2016 at the level of 1.1% and 0.6% in 2015 . In the capital, consumer prices rose by 2% in November. ArmInfo. The consumer market in  Armenia in October 2017 recorded inflation of 0.8%, which  is caused  by a rise in price of non-food products by 1.9%, food - by 1.2%,  while tariffs for services are reduced by 0.5%. In the capital,  consumer prices rose by 1.1% in October. In January-October 2017,  deflation in 0.9% led to a decrease in the price of food products by  1.7%, a decrease in tariffs for services - by 1.1%, with a rise in  the price of non-food products by 1.1%.The National Statistical  Service of Armenia told ArmInfo that the average monthly decline in  consumer prices in January-October 2017 was 0.1%, against a decline  of 0.3% a year earlier. In January-October 2017, in comparison with  January-October 2016, the consumer market recorded inflation of 0.7%  due to a rise in price of food products by 3.7%, while cheaper  non-food prices by 2.4% and a decrease in tariffs for services by  1.4% %. 

At Armenia`s consumption in January-September 2017, deflation was registered at 1.7% with an annual inflation of 0.6%

In the capital, consumer prices rose by  0.4% in September. In January-September 2017, deflation in 1.7%  caused cheaper food products by 2.9% and non-food products by 0.8%,  while tariffs for services decreased by 0.6%.

At Armenia`s consumer market, the annual inflation in August 2017 was 0.9%, but only in January-August, there was a deflation of 1.8%
