Armenian telecom operators increased tax payments to state treasury  by 14% in 2023

ArmInfo.Four telecom operators in Armenia - MTS Armenia, UCom, Team Telecom Armenia and GNC Alpha - paid 39.2 billion drams to the state treasury in taxes for 2023, which is 14% higher than a year ago. Of this amount, 324.8 million drams were paid for customs duties, 9.7 billion - for direct taxes (including profit tax, income tax) and 17.6 billion - for indirect taxes (including VAT, excise tax).

ArmInfo.The sell of the Armenian company GNC-Alfa CJSC, which represents the brand of the Russian telecommunications giant Rostelecom in the country, did not take  place, and the prospect of selling the company is uncertain. This is  reported by CivilNet, pointing out that the reason for the failure is  the Russian-Ukrainian crisis, or rather, Western sanctions against  Russian companies that did not allow the buyer to attract credit  resources and make payments to close the deal.

ArmInfo.The four telecom operators of Armenia in Q12022 reduced tax payments to the state treasury by 4% per annum - to 7.1 billion drams. In particular, 92.4  million drams were paid on customs duties during the reporting  period, 1.6 billion drams on direct taxes (including profit tax,  income tax), and 3.3 billion drams on indirect taxes (including VAT,  excise tax). This is evidenced by the list of the largest 1000  taxpayers in Armenia published by the State Revenue Committee of the  Republic of Armenia.

According to the published data of  the State Revenue Committee of the Republic of Armenia for  January-December 2019, the company took 10th place against 45th year  earlier, having allocated 12.2 billion drams to the budget through  taxes, of which 18.5 million drams - on customs duties, 3.5 billion -  for direct taxes (including income tax, profit tax) and 3.4 billion -  for indirect taxes (including VAT, excise tax).

The four  communications services providers of Armenia for the first 9 months  of 2018 paid a total of 16.4 billion drams or $ 34 million to the  state budget as taxes, which is 16.3% less than a year ago. Of this  amount, 7.2 billion was received by the state treasury on direct  taxes (including income tax, tax on profit) and 8.4 billion on  indirect taxes (including VAT, excise tax).
