ArmInfo. According to the American magazine Forbes, the net worth of Russian businessman of Armenian descent Samvel Karapetyan increased by $900 million in a  year, reaching $4.1 billion. Narek Karapetyan, a member of the  political council of the Strong Armenia party, wrote about this on  his Facebook page, publishing a corresponding Forbes article.

ArmInfo.  The Armenian service sector, a primary engine of the nation's economy, recorded a significant slowdown in the first two months of 2026. According to  the latest data from the Statistical Committee of Armenia, the sector  generated 630.3 billion drams ($1.6 billion) in revenue for  January-February, but its annual growth rate dropped to 7.2%, down  from 12.4% during the same period last year.  

ArmInfo.Net foreign investment in Armenian economy's real sector increased by 16% in 2025, reaching a  positive level of $90.5 million (34.5 billion drams). Moreover, net foreign direct investment (FDI) increased from a negative $119.8 million (47.5 billion drams) to a positive $244 million (93.02 billion drams), a significant fourfold increase year-on-year, as evidenced by data from the Statistical Committee of the Republic of Armenia.

ArmInfo. In January 2026,  Armenia's service sector increased revenue to AMD 318 billion ($836.8  million), decelerating in annual growth from 12.6% to 7.4%. This  trend was primarily driven by a slowdown in the dominant financial  sector, from 29% to 1.7%.

ArmInfo.The "Strong Armenia" party, led by renowned businessman and philanthropist Samvel Karapetyan, is proposing to apply a zero tax rate to small businesses. Narek Karapetyan, a board member of the party, stated this in an interview with Armenia TV.

ArmInfo. Forbes has compiled its latest ranking of the kings of Russian real estate for  2025. The total income of the 30 largest rentiers increased by 18%  over the year, and the entry threshold rose from $25 million to $40  million. Samvel Karapetyan, Russian-Armenian businessman  and head of  the Tashir Group of Companies, ranks second in the TOP 10 largest  rentiers, behind only Azerbaijani entrepreneurs God Nisanov and  Zakhar Iliev. 

ArmInfo.In Armenia, there were 4,413 real estate purchase and sale transactions  carried out by foreign citizens in 2025, a 13.4% increase compared to 2024.  According to data from the State Committee of the Real Estate  Cadastre of the Republic of Armenia, foreigners accounted for 7.4% of the total number of transactions (compared to 6.7% in 2024).

ArmInfo.The average market price of apartment buildings in Yerevan for 2025 amounted to 464,300 drams per square meter, showing a stagnant 0.3% increase (compared to 8.8% in 2024),  according to data from the State  Committee of the Real Estate Cadastre of Armenia.

ArmInfo. At the end of 2025, the mortgage portfolio in Armenia amounted to 1.6 trillion drams ($4.2 billion), a 13.2% increase from the previous year, as stated by Daniel Azatyan, Chairman of the Union of Banks of Armenia (UBA) noted during a press conference on February 17. According to Azatyan, mortgages thus accounted for 21.3% of the total loan portfolio of the Armenian banking system.

ArmInfo. The Austrian  financial concern GRAWE Group and C-Quadrat Investment Group   acquired 100% of the shares of LIGA Insurance. The deal was approved  by the Central Bank of Armenia on January 30, 2020. During a press  conference on February 3, Central Bank Chairman Martin Galstyan noted  that the deal was preceded by eighteen months of negotiations and  collaboration.  As noted, the company will retain the name LIGA  Insurance for now, but with the branding "Member of GRAWE Group": 75%  Equity: LIGA GRAWE Group and 25% Equity: C-Quadrat Investment Group.

Issues regarding the possibilities of the GRAWE company entering the Armenian insurance market were discussed during a meeting in Yerevan  between Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and a delegation including Klaus Scheitegel, Chairman of the Board of the Austrian  insurance group GRAWE (Grazer Wechselseitige Versicherung AG), and Andreas Wimmer, Managing Director and Chairman of the Supervisory  Board of the C-Quadrat Investment Group.
