ArmInfo. Armenia will revise VAT rules for gold and precious stone transactions. At its April 8 meeting, the RA National Assembly's Committee on Economic Affairs  approved the first reading of amendments to the Tax Code submitted by  the RA government.

At its April 8 meeting, the Committee on Economic Affairs of the National Assembly  of the Republic of Armenia issued a positive opinion on the draft  amendments to the Multilateral Agreement between Competent  Authorities on the Automatic Exchange of Financial Account  Information, submitted by the Government of the Republic of Armenia  for ratification.

ArmInfo.  Taxi drivers operating through electronic taxi platforms will become beneficiaries of the compulsory health insurance system starting January 1, 2027.   The decision to amend the law "On Universal Health Insurance" will be  discussed at an extraordinary session of the RA National Assembly  on  April 7.

ArmInfo.The final meeting of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) Country Operations Review and Programming Mission (CORPM) was held under the chairmanship of Edgar Mkrtchyan, Deputy Minister of Finance of Armenia.

ArmInfo. The US needs a corridor through Armenia to export critical minerals from Central Asia and control Iran. Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexei Overchuk  stated this in an interview with TASS.

ArmInfo. The 2% cashback program for purchases using ArCA cards, which launched on January 1, 2026, is being successfully implemented. RA Finance Minister Vahe Hovhannisyan announced this in a video address.

ArmInfo.On March 26, the official ceremony of signing the first syndicated loan agreement in the history of Armenia’s banking system between six financial institutions took place. The syndicate participants are Ardshinbank, Acba Bank, Evocabank, Fast Bank, C-Quadrat Ampega Asset Management Armenia, Amundi-Acba Asset Management.

ArmInfo.  The Armenian authorities are making another attempt to simplify the procedure for issuing certificates of origin and conducting expert examinations. At its plenary session on March 24, the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia will discuss amendments to the Law "On Chambers  of Commerce and Industry" and a package of related documents in their  second reading.

ArmInfo.Armenia gives the go-ahead for the ratification of the EAEU-UAE Economic Partnership Agreement. The RA NA Standing Committee on Regional and Eurasian Integration has approved the document submitted by the  Armenian government at its March 20 meeting.

ArmInfo. The Multi-Sector Budget Assistance Financing Agreement between the Republic of Armenia and the European Commission was signed in the Armenian Government Office in the presence of Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan and EU Commissioner Marta Kos.

ArmInfo.  Armenian Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure David Khudatyan received a delegation from the German development bank KfW, led by Regional Director (Eastern Europe, Caucasus, and Central Asia)  Veronica Garcia Del Arco.

ArmInfo. A meeting of the steering committee of the Caucasus Transmission Network project was held at the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure of Armenia. During the meeting, participants discussed  the progress of the project, planned activities, and future funding for the project.

This is the second working visit of  European Commissioner for Enlargement Marta Kos to our country in the last six months has visited Yerevan, which is a vivid testimony to the expanding partnership between Armenia and the European Union, as stated  by Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan  at a joint briefing with Kos on March 19.

ArmInfo. The European Union will provide Armenia with 143 million euros in financial assistance.  On March 12, the Armenian government approved the Multi-Sector Budget Support Agreement funding agreement with the European Commission. 

ArmInfo. Armenian Finance Minister Vahe Hovhannisyan received a delegation led by Nikolay  Podguzov, Chairman of the Management Board of the Eurasian Development Bank (EDB).

ArmInfo.In Armenia, the per capita debt burden reached $4.700 by January 1, 2026 (compared to  $4.200 in 2024). Moreover, the per capita debt burden from external debt increased from $2.100 to $2.300 (by 9.5%) in 2025, and from domestic debt from $2.1 thousand to $2.400 (a 14.3% increase).

ArmInfo.Armenia and Albania see the importance of expanding cooperation in the tourism sector  through joint programs, mutual participation in leading events, and  the development of business ties.

ArmInfo.At its March 5 meeting, the Armenian government approved the proposal to sign the Agreement  "On the Extension of the Implementation Deadline for the Meghri Border Crossing Point Construction Project," signed on February 7, 2020, between the Republic of Armenia and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.
