ArmInfo.The business mission of the Canadian-Eurasian Chamber of Commerce (CECC) will visit  Armenia for the first time. ArmInfo. There is no alternative to digital transformation.  Davit Hovhannisyan, Chief  Information Technology Officer at Ameriabank stated on the sidelines of the Doing Digital forum on April 3 during a conversation with journalists.

Over the past 3 years, Ameriabank has been intensively pursuing the path of digital  transformation, which is already reflected in the form of concrete results.  Arman Barseghyan, Retail Banking Director at Ameriabank, told reporters on the sidelines of the Doing Digital forum on April  3, noting that digital transformation has been on their agenda for about 8 years.  "According to our understanding, Ameriabank is already a Fintech company," he emphasized.

ArmInfo.The 1.2% deflation in the consumer market of Armenia in March 2024 compared to March 2023  (compared to the 5.4% inflation recorded a year ago) was caused by the drop in food prices. In Q1 2024, inflation was slightly lower than last year's quarterly level - 0.2% versus 0.8%, which was the result of cheaper non-food products. 

ArmInfo. Moscow notes with regret that Yerevan bowed to West's pressure on the issue of servicing cards of the MIR payment system. This was stated on April 3 during a weekly briefing by spokesperson of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Maria Zakharova, when asked to comment on the termination of service of MIR cards in Armenia.

It is expected that the development of the Amulsar mine will begin at the end of this year or the beginning of next year.  Babken Tunyan, vice-chairman of the NA Economic Affairs Committee, said on April 3 during the discussion of the project to establish a state duty for the export of gold, platinum and palladium ingots.

ArmInfo. Armenia intends to introduce a state duty on the export of gold, platinum and palladium bars. It will be approximately 0.8-1% of their market value. Deputy Minister of Economy Narek Teryan stated at a meeting of the NA Standing Committee on Economic Affairs on April 3 during the discussion of amendments to the law "On State Duty".
