ArmInfo. Armenia does not intend to leave the Eurasian Economic Union. On March 14, RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated this at a press conference.

ArmInfo.Today, our country is facing such challenges that do not allow us to abandon the fulfillment of our international obligations, including the  abandonment of the high economic benefit from the exploitation of the Amulsar gold mine. RA Minister of Economy Vahan Kerobyan stated this  in an interview to the Public Television of Armenia.

ArmInfo. Lydian Armenia will pay 75-100 million dollars to the state treasury every year in the form of taxes, duties and royalties. Hayk Aloyan Managing  Director of Lydian Armenia, which develops the Amulsar gold mine,  said in an interview with the Public Television of Armenia.

ArmInfo. The development of the Amulsar mine will increase Armenia's GDP by 1%. On February 22,  Minister of Economy of Armenia Vahan Kerobyan stated after the  signing ceremony of the tripartite memorandum of understanding  between the Armenian government, Eurasian Development Bank(EDB), and  "Lydian Armenia" company, which marked the resumption of the  Amulsar mine exploitation project.

If nothing interferes, the activity of the Amulsar gold mine will be resumed,  Armenian Minister of Economy Vahan Kerobyan said in an interview with  RFE/RL's Armenian Service , referring to the department's program of  measures, which contains a provision on resolving the "Amulsar issue".

The volume of total foreign investment in the real sector of the Armenian economy in January-September 2021, compared to the same period in 2020, grew by  33% (from a 32% decline a year earlier), exceeding the 27.1% growth  in the pre-Covid similar period of 2019, reaching in 9 months of 2021  $1.954 billion.

ArmInfo.Armenia`s financial authorities regard possible re- operation of the Amulsar goldmine as a risk with positive outcome. Armenia`s Minister of Finance Tigran  Khachatryan stated that this approach is incorporated in the 2022  draft budget.

ArmInfo.The Armenian government, forecasting a 7% GDP growth by the end of 2022, did not count on opening the borders with Turkey, as well as restarting the  project for the exploitation of the Amulsar gold mine.

ArmInfo. As for Amulsar (Amulsar gold deposit, ed. note), it is necessary to make a decision. This question cannot forever hang in the air, said the acting Minister of Economy of the Republic of Armenia Vahan Kerobyan on May 6 during a Facebook  press conference at Radio Liberty.

ArmInfo.The volume of total foreign investment (all types and forms of investment - Ed.) in the real sector of the Armenian economy in January-December 2020 compared  to the same period in 2019 decreased by 39% (against 19% growth a  year earlier), amounting to $1.8 billion in 2020. The share of FDI in  total foreign investment in January-December 2020 accounted for 26%  (against 20% a year earlier) or $466 million, which is lower than in  2019 by 21% (against a 2% decline a year earlier). This is evidenced  by the data of the RA State Committee.
