ArmInfo.Despite the difficult challenges, joy everyone's joy, the economy of Armenia displayed and continues displaying a fairly high resistance, including the effective macro-economic policies and equivalent actions being continuously implemented by the Government and the Central Bank. The RA Minister of Finance Vahe Hovhannisyan said on November 14, presenting for debate in the National Assembly the draft  law on RA State Budget for 2024.

ArmInfo.An International Monetary Fund (IMF) team, led by Iva Petrova, visited Yerevan during September 13-25 to hold discussions with the Armenian authorities for the 2023 Article IV consultation and the second review under the Stand-By Arrangement (SBA) with Armenia.  At the conclusion of the discussions, Ms. Petrova issued the following statement:

ArmInfo.Maintaining macroeconomic stability in 2024 will make it possible to better manage public debt, keeping its volume at less than 50% of the country's GDP, Minister of Finance Vahe Hovhannisyan stated on  November 8 at a meeting of the Committee on Finance and Budget, RA Parliament, as he presented the draft state budget of the country for next year.

ArmInfo. In 2023, Armenian economic growth is projected at 7.2%, and next year it will be 5.6%.  Governor of the Central Bank of the Republic of Armenia Martin Galstyan stated  on October 31 during a press conference.

The implementation of the capital expenditure program provided for by the state budget  of Armenia in 2023 will not differ much from the indicators in 2022, RA Minister of Finance Vahe Hovhannisyan stated on October 31 at a hearing on the draft state budget of Armenia Vahe Hovhannisyan, in  response to a question by MP Tadevos Avetisyan of the opposition Armenia.

The Eurasian Development Bank (EDB) has released the latest Macroeconomic Review for its six member states. This regular publication provides a roundup of the macroeconomic situation and projects near-term developments in the member countries. The review also contains detailed statistics on key macroeconomic indicators.

ArmInfo. Work continues in Armenia to develop an Employment Strategy. Deputy Minister of Labor  and Social Affairs of the Republic of Armenia Ruben Sargsyan announced this at a press conference on September 8.

ArmInfo. Today is the deadline for the 2-month term for the expert opinion by the interagency group for construction of a new nuclear power unit formed under a decision  by Armenia's Premier Nikol Pashinyan. 

ArmInfo. The upgrade of Armenia's long-term issuer default rating in foreign currency from  <B+> to <BB-> by Fitch Ratings indicates an increase in Armenia's  investment attractiveness. RA Deputy Finance Minister Eduard Hakobyan  expressed a similar opinion in an interview with the Public  Television of Armenia.

There is practically no policy aimed at developing high value-added industries in Armenia.  This, in fact, is evidenced by the data of both the RA Statistical  Committee and the list of the largest domestic taxpayers.
