In 2016, as well as a  year ago, the production of electric power by nuclear power plants  increased by almost 10 GW, more than twice the average annual rate  for the previous 25 years. During  the visit, the head of Rosatom met with the Prime Minister of the  Republic of Armenia Karen Karapetyan, where a wide range of issues of  cooperation between the two countries in the field of nuclear energy  was discussed. Before that, Likhachev visited the site of the  Armenian nuclear power plant in the city of Metsamor, the company's  press service reported.
