Armenia`s foreign trade deficit reduced in June 2021 by 20.2% per  annum

ArmInfo.An impressive growth in exports with a moderate growth of imports reduced the foreign trade deficit of Armenia in January-June 2021 by 11.4% per annum (against a decline of 20.1% a year earlier, with a decline in imports by 12.9%  and exports by 6.5%).

ArmInfo. In Armenia, economic activity in H1 2021 increased by 5% per annum (against a 4.7% decline a year earlier), which is accompanied by an increase in exports and a rise in imports. In June of this year. by June 2020, economic  activity increased by 8% (against a decline of 12.8% a year earlier),  while in June 2021 alone it accelerated growth to 12% from May 2%  (against a less noticeable acceleration of growth in May 2020 from  13.3 % to 14.8%).

High growth of mortgage portfolio supports the loan activity of  banking system

ArmInfo.The high growth of the mortgage portfolio by June 2021 by 37.2% per annum to 544.2 billion drams ($ 1.05 billion) supported the loan portfolio of the Armenian  banking system in 6.4% growth, exceeding the absolute value of 3.6  trillion drams ($ 6.9 billion). The growth of mortgages increased its  share in the total loan portfolio of banks from 11.7% last year to  the current 15.1%. This is evidenced by the data of the RA Central  Bank.

Armenia`s foreign trade turnover increased in January-May 2021 by  11.6% per annum

ArmInfo.Armenia's foreign trade turnover in January-May 2021 amounted to $ 2.9 billion, with an improvement in y-o-y dynamics to 11.6% growth (from an 11.2% decline  a year earlier). Moreover, higher growth was shown by exports (20.8%)  than imports (6.7%), with a trend reversal from the downward 8.1% and  12.8%, respectively, a year earlier. According to the final data of  the Statistical Committee of the Republic of Armenia, the volume of  exports reached $ 1.1 billion, and imports reached $ 1.8 billion.

Armenia`s public debt is approaching $ 9 billion

ArmInfo.Armenia's public debt accelerated growth in January-April 2021 to 10.4% (from 1.4% growth a year earlier), reaching $ 8.8 billion. According to preliminary data  of the RA Ministry of Finance, published by the RA Statistical  Committee, Armenia's external debt increased by 9.8%, exceeding $ 6.7  billion, and domestic debt - by 6.8%, exceeding $ 2 billion, while a  year earlier the decline in external debt by 1.7% was accompanied by  an increase in domestic debt by 13.3%.

In Armenia, economic activity in January-April 2021 increased by 2.6% per annum (against a 1.7% decline a year earlier), against the backdrop of an increase in   exports and imports by 16.7% and 2.2%, respectively. According to the  preliminary data of the Statistical Committee of the Republic of   Armenia, in the sectoral breakdown, growth was demonstrated by all   sectors, except for the service sector, and data on the agricultural   sector are published in the statistical report only on a quarterly   basis.
