ArmInfo. As of 1 june 2010 "Areximbank-Gasprombank group" increased the number of the emitted plastic cards by 30% - up to 64011 cards. As Deputy Director General of the bank Ruben Khachatryan told ArmInfo, the share of Visa cards out of the total number of cards was 58176 units, the rest were MasterCards.

As of 1 June 2010 the number of the active cards was 19428 units, which is by 3000 cards more than at the same period of
2009. "The big difference in the number of Visa and MasterCards is conditioned by fact that first we became the Visa member and have started issuing cards since 2002, and 4 years later, in 2006 we started issuing the MasterCards", - he said and added that the bank has a status of a fully-fledged member in both systems.

He also said that over the first five months of the current year the volume of transactions with the cards of the bank grew by 47% - up to 9.7 bln drams if compared with the same period of 2009. In Jan-May 2010 the operations with the ArCa cards in ATMs and the bank terminals amounted to 224 mln drams, whereas in at the same period of 2009 it was 15 mln drams. "Areximbank-Gasprombank group" has 43 functioning ATM, the lion's share of which 29 - are set in Yerevan, the rest in the regions of Armenia.
