In Jan-Sept 2010 VTB Bank Armenia, HSBC Bank Armenia and ACBA-Credit Agricole Bank showed the biggest net profit in Armenia's banking system
ArmInfo. In Jan-Sept 2010 VTB Bank Armenia, HSBC Bank Armenia and ACBA-Credit Agricole Bank showed the biggest net profit in Armenia's banking system - 3.2bln AMD ($8.8mln), 3bln AMD ($8.3mln) and 2.9bln AMD ($8.2mln), respectively.
Ameriabank and Armbusinessbank were the 4th and 5th with 2.1bln AMD and 1.7bln AMD, respectively.
According to the Ranking of the Commercial Banks of Armenia prepared by the Agency of Rating Marketing Information (ArmInfo), the top five in ROA were VTB Bank Armenia - 3.55%, INECOBANK - 3.31%, Armenian Development Bank - 2.89%, Artsakhbank - 2.60% and ARARATBANK - 2.50%; in ROE - Artsakhbank - 16.32%, HSBC Bank Armenia - 15.93%, VTB Bank Armenia - 15.20%, INECOBANK - 14.60% and Converse Bank - 12.02%.
In Jan-Sept 2010 the total retained profit of Armenia's banking system totalled 24.1bln AMD ($66.7mln) - 4 times more than a year before. In Q3 2010 the index totalled 9.1bln AMD - 11.2% more than in Q2 2010.
In Jan-Sept 2010 19 banks showed a total profit of 24.3bln AMD, 2 banks - a total loss of 0.2bln AMD. 3 banks showed annual decline in retained profit. VTB Bank Armenia showed 75% decline in the index, Mellat Bank - sixfold growth.
In Jan-Sept 2010 the capital of Armenia's banking system grew by 11%, in Q3 2010 - by 4.4%, as compared with Jan-Sept 2009 - by 22.5% to 317.7bln AMD ($879.2mln). In Q3 2010 HSBC Bank Armenia increased its authorized capital by 38%, Converse Bank by 4 times, INECOBANK by 88%. Ameriabank has had the biggest authorized capital in Armenia's banking system since Q4 2008. Ardshininvestbank is the second with 15.5bln AMD, ACBA-Credit Agricole Bank - the 3rd with 14.6bln AMD.
The top five in total capital are ACBA-Credit Agricole Bank - 38.1bln AMD (31% annual growth), Ameriabank - 31.2bln AMD (+46%), VTB Bank Armenia - 28.2bln AMD (+25%), Ardshininvestbank - 27.9bln AMD (+5%) and HSBC Bank Armenia - 23bln AMD (+39%).
In Jan-Sept 2010 the assets of Armenia's banking system grew by 7.1%, in Q3 2010 - by 6%, as compared with Jan-Sept 2009 - by 16.5% to 1.5trl AMD ($4bln). The top five in this index are ACBA-Credit Agricole Bank - 172.7bln AMD (16% annual growth), Ameriabank - 152.5bln AMD (+64%), HSBC Bank Armenia - 127.8bln AMD (+8%), Armbusinessbank - 117.5bln AMD (+22%) and Ardshininvestbank - 115bln AMD (+6.5%).
