Pensioners to be able to receive pensions by international cards of Ardshininvestbank
ArmInfo. Ardshininvestbank and Armenian Ministry of Labor and Social Issues have signed an agreement on non-cash payment of pensions. The press service of Ardshininvestbank told ArmInfo that within the frames of the agreement, pensioners can also accumulate funds as time deposits on the international cards of the bank and make use of numerous advantages and allowances.
According to the source, one can receive a pension at any ATM serving Visa and MasterCard cards. At present Ardshininvestbank has 120 cash dispensers and 145 POS-terminals in Yerevan and in all regions of Armenia. The cardholder pensioners can make use of card services of the bank both in Armenia and beyond its borders. The wide branch network of the bank (49 branches in Armenia, 6 branches in the NKR) also contributes to effective card service.
According to Acting Chairman of Board of Ardshininvestbank Karapet Gevorgyan, the banks assessed its opportunities, technical and professional potential, and was the first to be involved in the governmental project on noncash payment of pensions (the relevant agreement was signed on January 21 2011). "we are ready to help the pensioners to avoid fuss and trouble and provide them with high-quality banking services", he said.
To note, Ardshininvestbank works with local ArCa cards, international Visa and MasterCard cards. As of 1 October 2010, the total number of active cards of Ardshininvestbank made up almost 63 thsd (4th position in the card market), of them over 11 thsd Visa cards (11th position in the card market), and 2 thsd MasterCards. According to Armenian Card, as of 1 Dec 2010, there were 659 ATMs in Armenia (of them 590 served MasterCards, 501 served Visa cards) and 3269 POS-terminals (of them 2782 served MasterCards, and 1912 served Visa cards).
To recall, along with Ardshininvestbank, VTB Bank (Armenia), ArmBusinessBank, Prometey Bank, Unibank, Areximbank-Gazprombank Group, ARARATBANK, Converse Bank and Mellat Bank also participate in the governmental project on noncash payment of pensions.
