Over Jan-July 2011 Ameriabank increases number of its plastic cards by 58.6%
ArmInfo. Over Jan-July 2011 Ameriabank increased the number of plastic cards by 58.6% to 22606. The press service of the bank told ArmInfo that the network of ATMs is being enlarged for effective service of the cardholders. At present the bank has 76 ATMs, 59 of them in Yerevan, 15 in the regions and 2 in the NKR. The ATMs serve ArCa, Visa and MasterCards. By July 31 2011, the number of Ameriabank's POS-terminals reached 474, having increased by 146% since early 2011.
According to the source, by late July 2011 the cash operations with Ameriabank's cards grew by 59.9%, and the number of transactions almost doubled over this period (92.5% annual growth). The summary volume of cash and noncash transactions over Jan-July 2011 was over 26 billion AMD, 25.4% of which fell on noncash operations.
For more convenient and preferential service of his cardholders, the bank has also enlarged the network of trade and service points practicing discounts. In particular, the number of these points has already reached 200, and the discounts have reached 40%.
To note, the majority shareholder of Ameriabank is TDA Holdings Limited affiliated with Troika Dialog, with 99.99% share participation.
