In Q3 2011 premiums of Armenian insurance companies grew by 15.8%
ArmInfo. In Q3 2011 the premiums of the eight Armenian insurance companies grew by 15.8% to 3.1bln AMD.
The National Statistical Service of Armenia reports that 1.392bln AMD or 45% were compulsory motor third-party liability insurance premiums (40.3% growth in Q3 2011), 832mln AMD or 27% - property insurance (18.6% drop), 434.5mln AMD or 14% - medical insurance (48% growth).
In Q3 2011 the compensations of the companies grew by 19.6% to 2.030bln AMD, with 1.5bln AMD being compulsory motor third-party liability insurance (42.5% growth), 274.7mln AMD – property insurance (21.3% growth) and 234.2mln AMD – medical insurance (23% drop).
As of Sept 30 2011 the own capital of Armenia's insurance companies totaled 15.5bln AMD (5.8% drop in Q3 2011), the retained profit – 2.168bln AMD (47.2% growth), the number of contracts – 422,030 (31.6% growth).
