Area of Hayastan Trade Center given to Ameriabank against loan debt
ArmInfo. The area of the Hayastan Trade Center in Yerevan was given to Ameriabank against a loan debt, Ameriabank says in response to the reports that the center has been put up for sale.
Ameriabank says that the credit agreement with the borrower stipulates that the area should be alienated if the latter fails to repay his debt. So, the alienation was legal.
The lessee of the center, the Hayrapetyan Brothers company, has been notified that it should leave the area within a month but has failed to do it. So, now the bank is taking measures to evict the illegal owner from the territory. They will in no way affect the local retailers, with whom the bank will conclude new contracts.
The media reports say that the center has been put up for sale by the president of the Hayrapetyan Brothers company, MP Hayrapet Hayrapetyan, but nobody has agreed to his terms.
Meanwhile, another oligarch, MP Samvel Alexanyan is reported to seek to buy the center with a view to turn it into one more Yerevan City supermarket.
