Number of real estate transactions in Armenia up 10.2% in 2011
ArmInfo. Over Jan-Dec 2011 a total of 191767 transactions were concluded, with the y-o-y growth being 10.2% (or 17784 transactions), the State Committee of Real Estate Cadastre of Armenia told ArmInfo.
The lion's share of the transactions fell on Yerevan, where 32.4% (62110 transactions) of the total number of the transactions were registered (11.8% y-o-y growth or by 6550 transactions). In the meantime, the number of real estate transactions (67.6% of total or 129657 transactions) in the regions of Armenia was up 9.5% in 2011 (by 11234 transactions).
13.2% of the transactions were registered in Kotayk region, 8.5% - in Lori region, and 7.7% - in Gegharkunik region. The smallest number of transactions was fixed in Vayots Dzor region - (3.3%).
76.9% of 48,107 real estate alienation transactions were buying/selling transactions (13,727 in Yerevan, of which 5.7% in apartment houses – 5.7% growth). In 2011 the Committee registered 5,151 transactions for buying/selling private houses (1,322 in Yerevan) – 1% drop (3.9% growth).
In 2000-2008 the number of real estate transactions grew almost fivefold to 159,367. In 2009 the index dropped by 3%, in 2010-2011 grew by 24% to 191,767.
In 2011 the average prices of one sq m in apartment and private houses dropped by 5.5% and 4.2%, respectively.
