Areximbank-Gazprombank Group joins Anelik money transfer system
ArmInfo. The Board of the Central Bank of Armenia (CBA) has approved the participation of Areximbank-Gazprombank (GPB) Group in the Anelik international money transfer system. The CBA press service told ArmInfo that this decision was taken at the July 10 session of the CBA Board.
According to Areximbank-GPB Group's data, the Bank also effects money transfers via the systems Bystraya Pochta, Migom, Contact, MoneyGram, Unistream and Blizko.
During the same session, the CBA Board approved the participation of Mobi Dram in the international Contact payment and settlement system.
To note, the Anelik international system is Anelik Bank's own system created in 1997 and operating in 500 banks of the world. The transfers are carried out in Russian rubles, Armenian drams, US dollars and Euros. The system operates in almost 100 countries of the world and has over 63,000 customer service offices. In Q1 2012 Anelik's turnover exceeded $0.2 bln (21% y-o-y growth), with the total amount of the transfers being almost 500 mln (92% y-o-y growth).
Areximbank-GPB Group was founded in 1998. The sole shareholder of the bank is Gazprombank OJSC (Russia). In 2011 the Bank effected transfers worth a total of 272.5 bln AMD, of which the transfers without opening an account amounted to 5 bln AMD, and the transfers via the S.W.I.F.T. system amounted to 267.5 bln AMD.
