ArmInfo. In 2013 Areximbank-Gazprombank Group is going to increase the number of ATMs to 80, and number of POS-terminals to 390, said Rouben Khachatryan, Deputy Director General of the Bank.
As of the end of 2012, the Bank had 75 ATMs and 344 POS-terminals.
Khachatryan expressed confidence that the service of noncash payments will continue developing in 2013. "Even now the market of plastic cards of Armenia is intensively developing due to the high competition of the banks. This is proved by the increase in both the volume of issued cards and the volume of transactions, as well as by the increase in the new card services recently introduced by the banks of Armenia", he said. Khachatryan also confirmed the experts' forecasts saying that in 2013 the decline of commission fees levied by the banks for the issue and service of debit cards will continue.
According to the Review "Armenian Banks in Card Business" by the Agency of Rating Marketing Information (ArmInfo), as of 1 Oct 2012, the number of active cards of Areximbank-GPB Group was 31.7 thsd (22.8% y-o-y growth), and the volume of transactions - 27.1 bln AMD (16.4% y-o-y growth).
As of 1 Jan 2013, there were 1008.9 thsd active cards in Armenia against 764.6 thsd as of 1 Jan 2012 (32% growth).
