In 2012 aggregate loan book of Armenia's credit companies grew by 40%
ArmInfo. In 2012 the aggregate loan book of Armenia's credit companies grew by 40% to 157.6bln AMD, with 69% of the loans being in AMD.
The Central Bank of Armenia reports that 79.5% of the loans were given to the economy, wherein the financial sector received 28.9%, agriculture 19% and trade 12.3%. Retail trade received 81% of all loans given to trade, retail trade 17.2%.
11% of all loans or 17.4bln AMD were mortgage loans, 9.5% or 15bln AMD consumer loans.
As of Jan 1 2013 there were 32 credit companies in Armenia (28 universal credit companies, 3 leasing companies and 1 credit union).
