Armenian Central Bank approves Ameriabank's joining UNIstream money transfer system
ArmInfo. Armenia Central Bank Board approved Ameriabank's joining UNIstream money transfer system on March 19, the CB press-service told ArmInfo. Ameriabank reports that it operates also on the international money transfer systems MoneyGram, Interexpress, and Bistraya Pochta.
UNISTREAM is an international money transfer system, which allows you to easily, quickly and safely transfer the sum of money to your close relatives and friends living in Russia, CIS and in the far abroad. Unistream transfers are received and paid out in the currency of the United States Dollars, Euros and Russian Roubles. Unistream system provides its customers with more than 220 000 service offices in 95 countries of the world. In addition to Converse Bank, the following banks had also joined UNIstream: ACBACredit Agricole Bank, Armenian Development Bank, Areximbank-Gazprombank Group, Artsakhbank, Prometey Bank, VTB Bank (Armenia), Ardshininvestbank, Armbusinessbank, INECOBANK, ARARATBANK, and Armeconombank. UNIstream has 14 partners in Armenia, including Unibank.
UNIstream is the biggest money transfer system in Armenia. It has almost 50% of the country's market, with plans to increase this share to 80%. The number of UNIstream unified customer cards exceeded 1 million people. Nearly 65% of money transfer in the system is carried out by unified customer cards. In Armenia this indicator is nearly 80%. Ameriabank was founded in 1996. The majority shareholder of the bank is America Group with 99.99%.
