Armenian insurers' insurance payments grew to 5 bln AMD
ArmInfo. By 1 April 2013 the insurance payments of the 7 Armenian insurance companies totaled 4.916 bln AMD ($11.7 mln), 83% more than in the same period of 2012.
The Ranking of Insurance Companies of Armenia by the Agency of Rating Marketing Information (ArmInfo), Rosgosstrakh Armenia paid the biggest volume of indemnity 1.7 bln AMD, and Armenia Insurance paid the smallest indemnity - 204 mln AMD.
In the structure of insurance payments the share of motor third party liability insurance was 64.7%, or 2.8 bln AMD (down 7.8% versus Q1 2012), with Rosgosstrakh Armenia being in the lead - 927.3 mln AMD. The share of health insurance was 33%, or 1.6 bln AMD (up 15.8%), and Rosgosstrakh Armenia was again the leader in the given segment - 604.6 mln AMD. The share of CASCO was 7.9%, or 390 mln AMD (up 32%), with Rosgosstrakh Armenia being in the lead - 136.1 mln AMD.
The share of foreign travel insurance was 19.8 mln AMD, or 0.4% (up 18.4%). Financial damage insurance payments made up over 19 mln AMD, and the whole amount fell on INGO Armenia. Payments in the segment of property insurance against fire and disasters exceeded 17 mln AMD, or 0.4% (down 74.1%). Payments in the segment of cargo transportation insurance grew by almost 40% to 9.2 mln AMD.
In Q1 20136 the insurance companies of Armenia fixed a total of 53504 insurable events. Most of them - 36262 events - were fixed in health insurance. Motor third party liability insurance numbered 16233 insurable events, CASCO - 809 events.
To note, the capacity of the Armenian insurance market shrank by 0.3% to 11.4 bln AMD (27.2 mln USD) in Q1 2013.
