Narrowing of credit market is the reason of keeping head of the growth rates of trade portfolios of the government bonds of Armenian banks versus growth rates of credit investments

The total volume of investments of the Armenian banks in the government bonds grew 22,5% by 1 July 2013 versus 1 July 2012 (and 27,8% versus 2Q 2012), growth by 5,6% for the first halfyear versus 8,1% for the first half of 2012, growth by 8,1% for the 2Q versus dropping by 2,3% for the 1Q 2013, and dropping by 2,4% for the 2Q 2012, and amounted 172.6 bln drams ($421 mln).
The share of the government bonds in the general assets grew for the 2Q 2013 from 6,2% up to 6,5%, versus 6,4% - for the 2Q 2012, 6,3% - for the 2Q 2011, 6,1% - for the 2Q 2010 and 5,3% - for the 2Q 2009. HSBC Bank Armenia is again the leader by the volume of investments in the government bonds - 31.1 bln drams ($75.9 mln), Ardshininvestbank is the second - 21.2 bln drams ($51.7 mln). Then Armbusinessbank comes - 20.6 bln drams ($50.3 mln), Armswissbank is the forth - 18.1 bln drams ($44.2 mln) and VTB Bank (Armenia) is the fifth - 12.8 bln drams ($31.1 mln). As a result, Ameriabank has left the leading fine and found itself at the sixth position - 9.8 bln drams ($23.9 mln).
In the aggregate investments of the banks in the government bonds, the share of the five leading banks for the 1 half of 2013 grew from 58,6% up to 60,1%, versus 59,6% for the 1Q 2013Ј, 58,3% for the 2Q 2012, 60,3% for the 2Q 2011Ј, 56,5% for the 2Q 2010 and 51,1% for the 2Q 2009.
The total of 14 banks ensured annual growth of the investment volumes in the government bonds. Converse Bank is the leader , as it ensured almost threefold growth (jump from the 18th to the 11th position). Ardshininvestbank and ACBA-Credit Agricole bank ensured twofold growth (jump from the 5th to the 2nd position and from the 17th to the 14th position respectively). The growth of this indicator for the 2Q 2013 was fixed at 11 banks (at 9 banks for the 1Q 2013, and at 7 for the 2Q 2012. The largest quarter growth was fixed at INECOBANK - by 5 times (jump from the 17th to the 8th position). Then Ardshininvestbank comes - by 50,1% (growth for the quarter from the 4th up to the 2nd position).
The annual drop of the investment volumes in the government bonds was fixed in 6 banks, and the quarter drop in 9 banks. The biggest year and quarter dropping was fixed at Armeconombank - by 70-89%, the positions of which on this indicator sharply worsened - falling from the 13th to the 20th position.
