ArmInfo. An international banking conference kicked off in Yerevan on Thursday. The organizer is the Moscow International Currency Association and the key topic is banks in times of changes.
The conference involves top managers of bank, exchanges, financial and investment companies, brokers, FX&MM dealers, experts.
"I am sure that the conference will become a good opportunity for professional market players to exchange their views concerning modern trends and solutions," President of the Union of Banks of Armenia Samvel Chzmachyan said while opening the conference.
He said that in its recent report the IMF said that regulators representing the world's biggest financial centers have failed to ensure the banking sector's stability and are forced to feed it with hidden subsidies and quantitative easing programs. "The global banking sector is still very unstable, so, it needs to switch to Basel III rules," Chzmachyan said.
He hopes that the conference help bankers from EU and EurAsEC to establish personal and business contacts. The official sponsor of the conference is BBR Bank. The event will last till Oct 4.
