Armenia's Central Bank sums up results of "My Financial Month"
ArmInfo. The Central Bank of Armenia has successfully completed its "My Financial Month" campaign.
On Tuesday it summed up the results of the campaign and granted awards to the winners of the contests held in its framework.
The contests were as follows: the best photo of workflow, the best drawing of Armenian dram, the best composition on the first decision to save, the best video on insurance, the best financial wish, What? Where? When? Intellectual game and inter-university debates.
The winners of the best photo of workflow and the best video on insurance have been granted awards worth 50,000 AMD-100,000 AMD.
The program of the campaign also included financial bus tours, school and university workshops and exhibitions.
"The objective of the campaign is to improve people's financial awareness, to teach them how to save and spend their money, to familiarize them with different financial instruments and products," member of the CB's Branch Armenak Darbinyan told ArmInfo.
He said that the CB is going to hold the campaign each year and to make it an institutional tradition like in some European countries. He noted that this year the campaign involved more people than a year before.
To recall, on October 14, 2014, My Financial Month campaign was launched at the initiative of the Central Bank of Armenia. The campaign declared October as a month dedicated to personal finance. The campaign was carried out by the Central Bank of Armenia, Union of Banks of Armenia, Financial Ombudsman of the Republic of Armenia, Deposit Guarantee Fund of Armenia, Association of the Insurance Market Participants, Armenian Motor Insurers' Bureau, Union of Credit Organizations, Association of Armenian Mortgage Market Partiicpants, NASDAQ OMX Armenia, KfW German Development Bank, Savings Banks Foundation for International Cooperation (SBFIC) and Youth For Achievements NGO. Commercial banks, credit and insurance organizations also took an active part in the campaign.
