As of 1 July 2015, the overdue loans in the Armenian banks amounted to 40.9 bln AMD (up 25.6% in Jan-June 2015). In Q2 alone, the growth was 10%. The National Statistical Service of Armenia reports that as compared to Jan-June 2014 the overdue loans grew by 60.9%. In June 2015, the share of overdue loans in the total loan book made up 2% versus 1.8% in March 2015, 1.5% in early 2015, and 1.4% in June 2014.
In the meantime, the extended loans amounted to 119.6 bln AMD (down 2.9% in Jan-June 2015, down 8.6% in Q2). As compared with Jan-June 2014, the extended loans grew by 7%. The share of extended loans made up 5.8% versus 6.3% in March 2015, 5.7% in early 2015, and 6% in June 2014.
The lending of the Armenian banks dropped by 5% in Jan-June 2015 (5% decline versus a year before) and by 1% in Q2 2015, totaling 2.041 trillion AMD by 1 July 2015. Extended and overdue loans exclusive, the banking system's lending totaled 1.880 trillion AMD. In the banks' loan book (extended and overdue loans exclusive), the share of long-term loans made up 84.8%, and short-term loans - 15.2%.
