Armenia, which became a member of the Eurasian Economic Union (along with Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan) in 2015, will join the agreement on the exchange of financial - including confidential - information to create favorable conditions for free movement of capital on the financial markets within the EEU.
TASS reports that Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev instructed First Deputy Prime Minister Igor Shuvalov to sign on behalf of the Russian Government the Protocol on Armenia's accession to this agreement. The relevant decree of the Government is posted on the legal information official website. The other EEU member countries signed the document on 23 December 2014.
To recall, during an Aug 18, 2015 meeting, the Armenian Government approved the draft agreement on exchange of financial - including confidential - information to create favorable conditions for free movement of capital on the financial markets within the Eurasian Economic Union. Deputy Chairman of the Central Bank of Armenia Nerses Yeritsyan said that the signing of the agreement is stipulated by Armenia's EEU membership. The governments and parliaments of the EEU member states also approved the document, he said.
