ArmInfo. Armenia is ready to create favorable conditions for any serious investor up to approving a special law on investments, Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan stated at the meeting with Armenia's Ambassador to Austria Arman Kirakosyan on February 26.
"Austrian investments can be made in many fields of the Armenian economy, and particularly in the field of industry. Taking into consideration Armenia's membership in Eurasian Economic Union, Austrian investments may open new opportunities for large companies of this country", he noted. At the same time the president noted that in April the 7th inter-parliamentary session of the two countries will be held after which Armenian-Austrian business forum will be organized and both events may become serious impetus in the process of attracting investments. According to the president Vienna is interested in the field of renewable energy and management of natural resources.
The Ambassador in his turn mentioned that more than 20 agreements have been signed between the countries, most of which are related to the trade and economic field. This according to Kirakosyan facilitates cooperation between the business cycles of the two countries. He also mentioned that in recent years the trade turnover between the countries has been insufficient however this issue can be solved with the help of existing opportunities. Kirakosyan noted that cooperation with OSCE, UN International Atomic Energy Agency and other international organizations. In this context he emphasized the importance of cooperation with OPEC.
