ArmInfo. The overdue loans in Armenian banks grew by 11.6% to 40 bln AMD by 1 February 2016. The National Statistics Service of Armenia reports that in Jan 2016 the overdue loans grew by 5.6%. The share of overdue loans in the total loan book made up 1.9% versus 1.7% a year before and 1.8% in December.
In the meantime, the extended loans amounted to 111.6 bln AMD, with an 11.1% year-over-year growth and 0.9% in January. In January, the share of extended loans in the total amount of lending made up 5.3% versus 6% a year before and 5.3% in December.
The share of short-term loans in the overdue loans portfolio made up 55.7 or 22.3 bln AMD. The long-term loans totaled 44.3% or 17.7 bln AMD. The situation of the extended loans portfolio is the following - long-term - 79.3% or 88.4 bln AMD; short-term loans - 20.7% or 23.1 bln AMD.
As of February 1, the lending by Armenian banks totaled 2.086 trillion AMD dropping by 0.7% versus the indicator of last year. According to the National Statistical Service of Armenia, the lending dropped by 0.1% in January. Extended and overdue loans exclusive, the lending by the banks amounted to 1.935 trillion AMD.
