ArmInfo. On June 2, Armenian Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan visited GeoProMining's gold recovery plant in Ararat. The company is the key asset of GeoProMining Group (Russia) in Armenia. It develops the gold mine in Sotk, exploits the gold recovery plant in Ararat and the copper-molybdenum combine in Agarak.
The press office of the Armenian Government reports that accompanied by GPM President Roman Khudoliy, Hovik Abrahamyan familiarized himself with the production capacities of the plant. He was informed that following modernization of the plant, the staff has been increased by 130 employees and at the moment the company employs 1038 people.
Abrahamyan also familiarized himself with the innovative Albion technology. The latter was commissioned in 2014 and it meets all environmental standards. Khudoliy said that this technology is being used in the gold mining sector of Armenia for the first time.
The Prime Minister stressed the importance of the company in Armenia, because it makes quite big investments in the country. He said that the decline in precious metal prices on the global market hinders the activities of mining companies. He added that the gold recovery plant in Ararat is in quite a good condition. Abrahamyan stressed that the sector is the focus of Government's attention.
GeoProMining, founded in 2001, is an international, privately held company with a diversified base of gold and other metals assets. GeoProMining engages in mining activities in Armenia and the Russian Federation.
