The National Statistical Service of Armenia reports that by 1 April 2016, the nominal salary of the Armenian financial sector employees made up 431.5 thsd AMD ($886), with a 2.1% year- over-year growth. The following sectors rank next: information and communication - 369.4 thsd AMD (up 12.3%), mining industry - 343.3 thsd AMD (up 8.2%) and energy complex - 306.4 thsd AMD (up 28.2%).
Yerevan holds the second position by the average salary (199.7 thsd AMD) after Syunik province (219 thsd AMD, with a 0.3% year-over-year decline). Armavir province is the third with 163 thsd AMD (up 8.5%), Kotayk province is the fourth with 161.3 thsd AMD (down 1.1%), Ararat province is the fifth with 155.7 thsd AMD (up 7.5%).
In Jan-Apr 2016, the salary in the state-run organizations made up 157.2 thsd AMD ($323), with a 0.1% year-over-year decline. In non-budgetary organizations, the salary grew by 6.3% to 218.3 thsd AMD ($449). In April alone, the salary in the state-run organizations rose by 0.2%, and the salary in non- budgetary organizations grew by 1.1% (2.6% year-over-year decline and 7.7% year-over-year growth, respectively).
In Jan-Apr 2016, the nominal salary in Armenia made up 182.8 thsd AMD ($376), with a 3.2% growth versus Jan-Apr 2015 and a 0.7% growth in April alone. In April 2016 versus April 2015, the nominal salary grew by 2.6%.
In Jan-Apr 2016, the average market AMD/USD exchange rate was 486.82 AMD/$1, and in April 2016 - 481.27 AMD/$1 versus 476.46 AMD/$1 in Jan-Apr 2015 and 474.07 AMD/$1 in April 2015.
