ArmInfo. Kaspersky Lab held a workshop for financial organizations of Armenia on June 24. Representatives of the leading companies of the financial sector - banks, credit organizations, investment and pension funds, investment companies, mobile operators and internet providers - attended the workshop, the company has told ArmInfo.
The workshop was held by the senior specialists of Kaspersky Lab. Armen Karapetyan, Kaspersky Lab Territory Representative (Armenia and Georgia), made the greeting remarks and delivered a report on the problems of information security in the financial sector. Other reports of the leading specialists of Kaspersky Lab covered issues related to the target attacks on financial organizations, financial fraud and the fight against the fraud, protection of remote banking services and financial transactions, etc. In addition, the Kaspersky Interactive Protection Simulation business game was held for the financial institutions.
"The cyber crimes in the financial sector have recently become more frequent in Armenia. The criminals have started using more complex methods of electronic pick-pocketing," Armen Karapetyan said, adding that to resist the cyber threats and to prevent them, the heads of financial organizations and the employees of IT services should be aware of the up-to-date cyber threats, as well as the ways and tools to combat them. The relevant knowledge will be able to enhance the security of the means of both the financial institutions and their customers, he said.
