ArmInfo. By June 2016, only 687 citizens or 0.7% of the total number of job seekers were able to find a job in Armenia (17.4% year-over-year growth). As of 1 June 2016, the total number of the job seekers was 95.7 thsd (14.5% year-over-year growth).
According to the National Statistical Service of Armenia, by June 2016, the number of registered unemployed totaled 79.2 thsd (up 6.6% versus a year before), including 54.1 thsd women (up 3.9%), and 25 thsd men (up 13.1%).
Yerevan has the biggest number of unemployed citizens - 14 thsd. The following provinces rank next: Shirak - 13.7 thsd, Lori - 11 thsd, and Kotayk - 8 thsd.
By June 2016, there were 1,742 vacancies (down 2.9%), with 55 people per 1 vacancy (up 17% versus a year before).
By the updated forecast of the Central Bank of Armenia (CBA), in 2016 unemployment will make up 18.1% (versus 18.2% forecasted for 2015), with further annual reduction by 0.2% in 2017-2018. In 2016, the wages will not be raised. Over the past three years, unemployment in Armenia grew from 16.2% to 18.5%: in 2015 - 18.5%, in 2014 - 17.6%, in 2013 - 16.2%.
