In the current year the trade turnover between Armenia and Russia grew by 10% and has totaled 450 mln USD, Russian Co-Chair of the Commission, Minister of Transport of Russia Maksim Sokolov stated on the 17th session of the Russian-Armenian Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation, held in Saint Petersburg.
According to the Russian Minister the export of Armenian goods to Russia increased several fold exceeding 125 mln USD. "Obviously, despite tense external economic and political situation Russia was and continues to remain Armenia's main trade partner", Maksim Sokolov said. He added that the agenda of the today's session of the intergovernmental commission included a wide range of issues related to deepening of cooperation in such fields as energy, transport, agriculture and humanitarian field. The Minister stressed that the most part of the issues (almost 60 points) included in the agenda of the previous session of the commission has been implemented. Particularly, agreement was reached on reducing price on Russian gas, ensuring Armenia with petroleum products without customs procedures, organization of special transportation on Upper Lars border checkpoint.
