ArmInfo. Expected investments into Armenian economy will total 800 mln USD, Armenia's Economy Minister Artsvik Minasyan informed at the press conference on July 15.
According to him potential investors including from China, the USA and the EU intend to invest 800 mln USD into Armenia's economy. The Minister explained that till autumn new investments in mining sector, particularly in Amulsar gold deposit, are expected, large investments are anticipated in other projects of mining sector as well as inflow of new investors in free economic zones of Armenia is planned. The Minister noted that if the residents of FEZ do not fulfill their obligations benefits provided to them will be cancelled.
Armenia plans to enlarge its presence in Silicon Valley, due to which investment inflow in Armenia will grow, Minasyan informs. "Armenia's economy is on the stage of recovery if compared to the period before the country's membership in the Eurasian Economic Union and after it", the Minister stated emphasizing that it is too early to talk about intensive development. "This can be expected only when the model of Armenia's strategic development is fully implemented", the Minister summarized.
