ArmInfo. Goods at the cost of up to EUR200 will be registered at the Armenian customs office through a facilitated procedure and without extra payments. Minister of Economy Artsvik Minasyan says, SME representatives and persons not engaged in entrepreneurship have repeatedly complained for being charges extra payments for import/export of inexpensive goods.
The minister explained that sometimes these customs payments even exceed the cost of the transported goods. To settle this problem, the Government and MP Edmon Marukyan made a joint initiative to amend the customs regulations, the minister said.
Another novelty is that the citizens will get an opportunity to declare the imported/exported goods by themselves, without applying to customs brokers. Amendments on it will be probably approved by the parliament at the autumn session.
Under the customs clearance procedures, the goods at the price of up to EUR200 (including transportation costs) transported within the Customs Union countries will be registered on a facilitated procedure, without extra documents and data. The goods at the price of above EUR200 (including transportation costs) and the goods at the price of up to EUR200 but requiring submission of extra documents and data to the customs office are subject to the individual customs declaration procedure.
