ArmInfo. Qian Keming, Chinese Vice Minister of Commerce, says Armenia has an important part in the development of relations between China and the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU). The Chinese official made such statement at his meeting with Armenian Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan on August 22.
According to the Government press-office, the sides hailed the implementation of the joint projects in the fields of agriculture, road construction, tourism, education etc. The prime minister pointed at the dynamic development of the bilateral trade and economic relations, the importance of the Armenian-Chinese intergovernmental commission in the given process.
"China is an important partner for us and the government welcomes Chinese investments in the economy of the country," Abrahamyan said.
Qian Keming, in turn, said the current political dialogue will help bringing the relations of the two countries to a new level.
According to the National Statistical Service of Armenia, foreign trade turnover between Armenia and China for the first half of 2016 totaled $181.3mln suffering a 22% decline year over year. Export fell 60.1% to $37mln, while import increased to $144.6mln with a 3.1% y-o-y growth.
